“Bad things go-go…….good things come-come!!” My Friday’s morning chant!
So as the title states, the weekend was extremely enjoyable! Certain things were planned out and was carried out well with reasonable effort and time. Certain things weren’t in plan but managed to get it done with great satisfaction.
Had a plan worked out over Friday to make sure I get a few essentials done.
First, I wanted to rebuilt one of Saki’s rear caliper since it was siezed up. The plan was to head over to N1 Racing in Sunway who claims to be the professionals in racing. Well, rebuilding the caliper would be quite a piece of cake for them then. Apparently, that wasn’t the case. I was afraid of being caught up with the crowd and ended up not having enough time for my other items in Saturday’s-to-do-list. So I jumped off the bed with little hesitation on a Saturday morning! I was at N1 earliest. Even earlier than their workers. Soon after, a salesperson arrive. Spoke to him and to my dissapointment, they are unable to do it giving excuses of not being able to get the parts, so on and so forth. So much for a reputable company.
There was no more option. The only place that I know about that could do it wasn’t the best place based on my previous unhappy experiences. The so-called Rotary Specialist in USJ. For the longest time, I have not brought Saki to them for anything at all. Since I didn’t had a choice, I went there crossing my fingers. Thank god the good guy attended me and replaced a used but in good condition caliper for me at the cost of RM120!! Now is all good. It was done in a timely manner and so I went ahead for the second thing in the list.
Visiting Ah Zen and kidnaping his dad to take me to a workshop in Jln Kuching that cleans and polishes old plastic lights. Is a common thing for American-Spec FC to have their FTP lenses turned yellowish over the time. Meguires (however you spell it) sells a rather good polisher for lenses like this. Obviously, exotic products like that are usually no where to be found here in Malaysia. Fortunately, there was one person who could get the job done well. So I dropped the lenses in the workshop and head off. Promised to get the lenses done within a week. When I get it, I’ll post pictures of it.
3rd thing down the list. Which would probably sum it up for the day. would be heading back to the Rotary Specialist to replace my shocks. Currently running on Tein coilovers, I realize that the suspension is too stiff for street driving. On top of it, the handling wasn’t that great afterall. So I got them to source around for some stock shocks to go with my previously used Tanabe Springs.
However, things were not that predictable from this point on.
to be continued…
